Studying theatre art during the centuries gives us fresh knowledge for its progress and spirit. It is a product of “the desire of man to show something important to people on a public place”. Theatre art has begun as street art, passed through ancient theatre with open amphitheatre stages, classical theatre with renaissance parade stages to become social art by arena stages. The most important part of theatre art is the contact between actors and audience. Inspired by Walter Gropius Total Theatre, theArte is next generation total theatre – it aims to popularize theatre art without loosing its specific moments of “feeling and acting together”.
Total Theatre II gives a synthesis between theatre art and cinematic art and more… It makes audience get involved in the action. The main hidden but important factor for having effects on audience is the surface of its contact with actors. The Renaissance Stage has the smallest surface contact (this is the area of the proscenium arch) and Arena Stage has the biggest. TheArte offers a new kind of stage and next step in increasing the contact surface – Volumetric Structure.
